Director's Letter

The Office of GLBT Affairs works on behalf of each and every person within the District who identifies as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or questioning. We work collaboratively with an advisory committee and community members to develop innovative ways for government to improve the delivery of services to the community.

Part of our role is to work within the District Government to have all agencies develop policies on how they improve service and access for GLBT residents.  Another role the Office will play is to develop educational forums and town halls to connect residents to the services of the DC Government.   We are here to serve you.

The GLBT community is a vibrant and diverse community.  Our issues cut across all lines.  Our advisory committee is reflective of that diversity but the Office needs your help by bringing issues to our attention, attending our community forums and volunteering to help us plan our events.

I am proud to serve the GLBT residents of the District of Columbia. I look forward to working with you.   Please feel free to call us if there is any way we can be of service.
